This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring incoming materials meet the quality standards required to support patient safety, product excellence, and operational success. Working closely with Operations, you will help maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance while supporting the continued growth of our business. What will you be doing? Perform receiving inspection activities for incoming materials, components, and subassemblies. Inspect materials against drawings, specifications, and quality requirements using appropriate measurement tools. Review inspection results and ensure proper identification, segregation, acceptance, or rejection of materials. Support the timely release of materials to production while maintaining compliance with quality procedures. Identify and document nonconforming materials in accordance with established processes. Maintain complete, accurate, and audit ready inspection records. Help maintain a clean, organized, and compliant inspection environment. Provide support across other operational areas when required. What will you need to be successful? High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred 2+ years of experience in quality or receiving inspection within a medical device or other regulated industry. Understanding of
FDA 21 CFR
Part 820 and
ISO 13485
requirements. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience using inspection methodologies, sampling plans, and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vision systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills, and a collaborative approach to teamwork. The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $50,000-$75,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
