QUALITY INSPECTOR JOB POSTING
The Electrolizing / ME-92 Operations Quality (QI) Inspector is primarily responsible for assessing (inspecting) the quality of the chrome plating / coating on the customer supplied parts in accordance with (IAW) standard, customer, and industry requirements. Industries served include Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, Nuclear, Automotive, and Industrial - Commercial over a customer base that spans the world. This can be an entry level position, but an experienced, assertive individual is valued. The QI's duties may include: Performing Incoming / Processing / Final Inspection IAW applicable Work Procedures (WPs) and as defined in the job documentation packet (JDP). Visual or dimensional inspection IAW the appropriate WPs as defined in the JDP. Using visual magnification aids and various measuring equipment and gages as defined or appropriate to support quality assessment. Using chrome deposit measurement equipment as trained to support quality assessment. Control of Non-conforming product IAW standard practices and applicable WPs. Good documentation practices IAW standard practices and applicable WPs. Incidental product cleaning and rework / touch up in conjunction with part inspection. Part packaging in conjunction with part inspection. Use of ovens for the baking of parts IAW standard practices and applicable WPs. Following the JDP process and or reporting discrepancies to Quality Supervision. Support department 5S as appropriate. 12. Prioritizing work IAW the daily ship list, workflow and or as directed by Supervision. 13. Assisting in other departments when needed. The successful candidate will be able to read, write, and understand English in using JDP's to execute an inspection process. No prior inspection experience is required but it is a plus. Basic inspection measurement devices will be used with the opportunity to learn and be taught on advanced XRF measurement equipment. Dimensional assessment of the chrome plating / coating is a key quality attribute along with extensive visual inspection to ensure uniform and consistent chrome coverage free of defects IAW defined requirements. The QI will work alongside other department inspectors and can stop to ask questions, seek guidance, and consult with other colleagues or supervisory staff as appropriate. Working in a job shop type environment, the successful candidate will be able to adapt to working on many different jobs at different phases of inspection throughout the day. Inspection will entail working with all different sized parts, involving all different sized lots, from 100's of different customers in a reasonably fast paced environment. And despite these differences, the process is basically the same.
