Job Title:

Quality Control Technician 2nd shift: 3:30p- 1:30am M-Th Job Description The Quality Control Technician inspects copper castings and manufactured components to verify that they meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards. This role focuses on dimensional inspection, precise measurement, and thorough documentation in an industrial environment such as a foundry, machine shop, or metal manufacturing facility. The technician uses a variety of precision measuring instruments and works closely with production teams to identify non-conformances, support corrective actions, and uphold a strong culture of quality and safety. Responsibilities Perform detailed dimensional inspections on copper castings, machined parts, and finished products. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards to determine inspection requirements. Use precision measuring equipment such as height gauges, digital, dial, and vernier calipers, inside, outside, and depth micrometers, dial indicators, pin gauges, and other inspection instruments as required. Verify product dimensions, tolerances, and surface conditions against customer and engineering requirements. Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure consistent product quality. Document inspection results clearly and accurately, and maintain complete and organized quality records. Identify non-conforming materials and communicate findings to production personnel to coordinate corrective actions. Support root cause investigations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving processes. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure ongoing compliance with established quality standards. Assist with internal and external audits, process verification activities, and adherence to quality system requirements. Maintain calibration records for measuring equipment and ensure all instruments are properly handled, stored, and calibrated. Promote workplace safety and ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbeville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
