3rd Shift Senior Operator-Finishing Range

Job Description

Operate equipment / machines in Prep, Weave, Finishing, Cloth or other areas to aid in plant processes, and perform routine maintenance checks, may also operate, monitor and maintain highly technical weaving looms to manufacture woven fabrics and materials, drive fork truck, as needed Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected Serve as subject matter expert in their department from an operational / process standpoint and escalate any potential issues or process improvements to Production Supervisor. Serve as a positive example to peers in safety program adherence and cross-training efforts. Assist the Production Supervisor or Manager with JPS Hourly Interview Process in tours of the working area prior to their interview with the Production Manager. Serve as point-person on day-to-day machine issues or process questions, in addition to the Supervisor, On The Job Trainer and Training Coordinator. May run or assist the Production Supervisor with projects or special assignments related to their department or area. Serve as key hourly employee in running a fluid, daily operation and participate in all team/local meetings or required reporting, according to standards. Effectively engage new hires so they feel welcomed to the department, and escalate any performance or behavior issues to the Production Supervisor so they can address concerns. Assist in daily scheduling or managing appropriate jobs are run, in the absence of the Production Supervisor. Participate in required training and development as needed. Participate in root cause corrective action process, and safety incidents as needed and ensure that business is conducted at the highest level of integrity. Support Safety and Human Resource initiatives across the business (diversity and inclusion, turnover/retention initiatives, performance reviews, engagement). Maintain and build trusted relationships with team members, peers, and stakeholders.
