Maxwood Furniture is a growing furniture company behind brands including Max & Lily, Plank + Beam, and Maxtrix. For more than two decades, we've been designing and delivering furniture for homes across the country—and our warehouse and transportation teams play a big part in making that happen. We're looking for a new member to join our Warehouse Operations team. If you're dependable, ready to work, and looking to be part of a growing team, we'd like to hear from you. Role Overview The Senior QC Inspector checks incoming and in-stock furniture for quality issues at our Marion warehouse, making sure everything meets our standards before it ships to a customer. You'll be the go-to quality expert on the floor — guiding newer inspectors and working with Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Customer Care to catch problems early. Responsibilities Inspect incoming furniture shipments for damage, defects, and packaging issues Check in-stock and pre-shipment inventory against purchase orders and approved samples Document every inspection with photos and clear notes Flag and set aside bad inventory, and help decide next steps (rework, return, discount, scrap) Track defect patterns by vendor or product to help hold vendors accountable Train and support newer QC inspectors Keep inspection checklists and procedures up to date Help Customer Care look into quality complaints from customers What Success Looks Like You know our checklists and paperwork inside and out within 90 days Warehouse leadership trusts your judgment on quality calls Bad inventory gets caught before it reaches a customer Vendors improve because of the issues you flag Requirements 3+ years in quality control, inspection, or QA — furniture or other manufactured goods a plus Experience mentoring or leading other inspectors Solid knowledge of furniture materials, construction, and common defects Sharp eye for detail, even at high volume Comfortable learning basic inventory software (we'll train you on ours) Able to write clear, professional inspection notes Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly High school diploma or equivalent; ASQ certification a plus, not required Core Competencies Detail-oriented and reliable Hands-on and hardworking Clear communicator Works well independently and as part of a team Benefits 401(k) matching Dental Insurance Employee Discount Flexible Schedule Flexible Spending Account Health Insurance Life Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Work Location Marion, SC (Distribution Center)
