Quality Inspector - Sundaram Clayton Sundaram Clayton is seeking a Quality Inspector in Ridgeville, SC to support production by verifying product quality and ensuring parts meet specifications. This role involves routine inspections, documentation, and escalation of nonconforming product to protect the customer and maintain internal quality standards. Responsibilities for a Quality Inspector Inspect incoming, in-process, and/or finished parts to confirm they meet specifications Perform visual inspections and use basic measuring tools (as required) such as: calipers, micrometers, height gauge, go/no-go gauges, rulers/tape measures Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records (paper or system-based) Identify nonconforming parts, place product on hold when needed, and notify leads/supervisors Support root-cause efforts by providing defect details, samples, and documentation Verify correct labeling, packaging, and count accuracy (as required) Follow standard work, quality procedures, and safety requirements Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and support 5S expectations Work closely with production operators and leads to reduce defects and improve quality Requirements of a Quality Inspector Prior experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment OR strong attention to detail with ability to learn inspection processes Ability to stand/walk for the duration of the shift and perform repetitive work Ability to lift up to 35-50 lbs (as needed) Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Basic math and ability to read/follow work instructions Dependable attendance and ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift , including Saturday overtime Ability to complete documentation accurately and consistently Preferred Qualifications 6+ months experience as a Quality Inspector or in manufacturing quality Experience reading basic prints/part specs and understanding tolerances Familiarity with: defect tracking, scrap/rework processes control plans, check sheets, inspection logs Experience using measuring equipment (calipers/micrometers) and recording results Automotive/manufacturing quality experience (a plus) Work Environment Manufacturing/industrial setting (noise, moving equipment, temperature variations) PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) Benefits for Associates Weekly pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Opportunities for overtime and career advancement
