Material Inspector:
Inspect incoming scrap metal loads from commercial and public customers Identify, sort, and grade ferrous and non-ferrous metals including copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and iron Detect and remove debris, non-metallic materials, and hazardous contaminants Verify metal composition using magnets, handheld testing equipment, and basic tools Assist with weighing loads and documenting material details for pricing and inventory Follow yard safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report unsafe materials or conditions Qualifications for
Material Inspector:
Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling, manufacturing, or construction setting preferred but not required Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout an 8-hour shift Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and loud industrial environments Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals preferred Strong attention to detail when identifying materials and spotting prohibited or hazardous items Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach If you have relevant experience and skills, this opportunity may be a great fit for you.
