Job Overview We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our scrap metal yard team. The Scale Operator is responsible for accurately weighing incoming and outgoing vehicles, recording material weights, assisting customers, and maintaining accurate transaction records. Responsibilities Operate the truck scale and scale software accurately and efficiently Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and vehicles Determine the type and quantity of scrap materials Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, and yard employees Maintain an organized and clean scale house/work area Follow all company safety policies and procedures Perform other duties as needed to support daily yard operations Qualifications Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, trucking, logistics, or similar environment preferred Previous scale house or weighmaster experience is a plus Basic tablet/computer skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and customer-service skills Ability to work independently Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor/industrial environment Must be dependable and punctual What We Offer Competitive pay Full-time, steady work Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Paid Time Off 401(k)
