Quality Service Technician Job Description The Quality Service Technician ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of an advanced vehicle platform by conducting thorough inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. This role maintains accurate documentation, performs repairs when issues arise, and provides technical support to ensure all products and services consistently meet established quality standards. Responsibilities Conduct quality inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet defined specifications and quality standards. Perform testing on vehicle platforms, parts, and products, including vehicle tests and product service tests, to validate performance and functionality. Carry out calibration tests and routine maintenance on inspection tools and testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and multimeters to inspect and test parts. Perform detailed visual inspections and quality checks to identify defects, nonconformities, or potential issues. Troubleshoot technical quality issues, determine root causes, and perform repairs on products or components as needed. Validate performance after repairs and adjustments to confirm that products meet required quality and reliability standards. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand product specifications and inspection criteria. Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test data, calibration results, and service-related activities in accordance with established procedures. Support continuous improvement of quality processes by communicating findings, trends, and recommendations to the appropriate technical teams. Ensure proper use, care, and organization of inspection tools, testing equipment, and work area to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Essential Skills Minimum of a high school diploma. At least 2 years of experience in quality or manufacturing environments. Proven experience performing quality inspections and quality checks on parts, components, and finished products. Ability to conduct calibration tests and perform maintenance on inspection tools and testing equipment. Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and multimeters. Strong visual inspection skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to apply correct inspection criteria. Experience testing parts, vehicle platforms, and product service performance. Capability to troubleshoot technical quality issues and perform effective repairs. Competence in maintaining accurate data records of inspections, test results, and service activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with EV chassis or automotive-related products is beneficial. Familiarity with high-tech manufacturing or plant environments. Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and inspection records. Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and production teams. Problem-solving mindset focused on identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented startup environment. Work Environment This role is based onsite at a modern, high-tech plant in Loudon, Tennessee, operating within a dedicated area inside the facility. The plant is clean, well-organized, and designed for advanced manufacturing, with a maximum temperature around 78 degrees despite not being fully climate controlled. The standard work schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Friday reserved for overtime as needed. You will work hands-on with inspection tools, testing equipment, and vehicle-related components in a professional production environment that emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and technical excellence. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loudon, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
