About the Position Superior Waste Industries is looking for a dependable, self-motivated Field Quality Assurance (FQA) Technician to help maintain the quality, condition, and placement of our equipment across customer jobsites. Our operation includes roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, handwash stations, and front-end dumpsters. This position is responsible for inspecting these assets in the field, identifying issues, documenting findings, and communicating with Dispatch and Operations to ensure our equipment meets company and customer standards. This is a hands-on, physically demanding, and highly dynamic field operations position. You will drive a company vehicle to customer jobsites, independently perform inspections, assess asset condition, and determine when equipment needs to be exchanged or returned for additional work. When field responsibilities are complete or operational needs arise, you will also support our yard and sanitation operations. We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes initiative, adapts to changing priorities, and can be trusted to get the job done without constant supervision. Key ResponsibilitiesField Quality Assurance — Primary Responsibility Travel to customer jobsites in a company vehicle to inspect roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, handwash stations, and front-end dumpsters. Inspect assets for cleanliness, damage, condition, functionality, appearance, placement, accessibility, and overall customer readiness. Assess whether assets meet Superior Waste Industries' company and customer standards. Identify assets that need to be exchanged, repaired, cleaned, or returned to the yard for additional work. Perform minor preventative maintenance when appropriate, such as greasing dumpster wheels and other basic asset maintenance. Identify damaged, excessively worn, or otherwise substandard equipment and communicate the necessary next steps. Evaluate dumpster and equipment placement to ensure drivers have appropriate access to perform pickups, deliveries, swaps, and other services. Report incorrect placement, restricted access, difficult approaches, and other jobsite conditions to Dispatch. Provide accurate field information to help Dispatch plan efficient service routes and prevent unnecessary delays or operational issues. Complete required FQA paperwork, inspection reports, and documentation accurately. Communicate issues requiring additional attention to Dispatch, Maintenance, Operations, or management. Follow up on previously identified issues when directed. Work independently while maintaining communication with the appropriate team members. Represent Superior Waste Industries professionally at customer locations. Yard & Operations Support — Secondary Responsibility When field inspections are complete or additional operational support is needed: Stock, organize, and maintain sanitation supplies and materials. Clean and perform basic repairs on sanitation assets. Assist with preparing sanitation equipment for deployment. Perform general yard cleanup and remove trash and debris. Move dumpsters and other assets around the yard by hand or with basic equipment. Operate basic yard equipment under supervision and in accordance with company safety procedures. Assist with general labor and operational tasks related to the position, as assigned. Support the yard and maintenance teams in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This Is a Dynamic, Independent Role This position is best suited for someone who can work independently while remaining highly dependable and accountable. You will have clear responsibilities and expectations, but you will not have someone standing over you throughout the day telling you what to do next. You will be expected to manage your time, recognize what needs attention, prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, and communicate when something requires additional support. Your workday can change based on what is happening in the field and at the yard. Some days may involve a full route of inspections and reporting asset issues to Dispatch. Other days may require more time supporting sanitation operations, cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, moving assets, or responding to changing operational priorities. We need someone who can be trusted to get the job done without constant supervision. Independence does not mean working in isolation. You are expected to communicate effectively with Dispatch, Maintenance, Operations, and management so that identified issues are addressed and the rest of the team has the information they need. We are looking for someone who: Shows up consistently and can be counted on. Takes ownership of their responsibilities. Works effectively without constant supervision. Uses good judgment when identifying and prioritizing issues. Takes initiative rather than waiting for instructions when a task is within their responsibilities. Adapts when priorities change throughout the day. Communicates clearly when problems arise or additional direction is needed. Completes assigned work and paperwork accurately. Understands that being independent means being accountable for results. Build Your Career With Us This position has significant room for growth. As our operation expands, we will need people who understand our business, know how to get things done, and are ready to take on more responsibility. Perform well, prove yourself, and position yourself for future opportunities within Superior Waste Industries. Advancement opportunities will depend on business needs, available positions, performance, and readiness to take on additional responsibility.
