Job Description
We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector to join the team! The QC Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards before reaching our customers, with a primary focus on dimensional inspection using FARO portable CMM equipment (arm and/or laser tracker). This role involves performing precision measurement and inspection at various stages of production, identifying defects and dimensional non-conformities, and ensuring compliance with company specifications, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on FARO experience, strong GD&T knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform precision dimensional inspections using the FARO Arm/FARO Laser Tracker and associated software (e.g., PolyWorks, FARO CAM2, Verisurf) to verify parts against CAD models and engineering drawings Develop, run, and maintain FARO inspection routines/programs for first article inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final part verification Generate and interpret dimensional inspection reports, deviation reports, and point-cloud/color-map comparisons to CAD Perform inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards Use conventional measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to supplement FARO measurements and verify product dimensions and specifications Conduct visual inspections to identify defects such as cracks, deformations, or surface imperfections Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on technical drawings to establish inspection criteria and datum structures Document and report inspection results, including any non-conformities, in accordance with company procedures Work closely with engineering and production teams to address quality issues, investigate root cause, and implement corrective actions based on FARO data Maintain and calibrate FARO equipment, ensuring certification schedules are met Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare quality reports, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/AS9102 if applicable) Ensure compliance with ISO or other quality standards applicable to the industry Support internal and external audits as needed, including providing FARO-generated dimensional data Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person, or management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality control, metrology, or
