Quality Control Leadership Position Overview The Quality Control (QC) Inspector supports project quality activities by performing basic visual inspections of electrical installations and documenting inspection results. This position works under the direction of QC leadership and assists with verifying that completed installations meet approved drawings, project requirements, applicable standards, and Hays Electrical Services' quality requirements. The QC Inspector primarily performs routine field observations, basic installation checks, photographic documentation, and deficiency reporting. More complex inspections, testing verification, non-conformance management, and quality planning remain the responsibility of senior QC personnel. Key Responsibilities Perform basic visual inspections of electrical installations and completed work. Inspect installations for general workmanship and visible compliance with project requirements. Verify basic installation items such as labeling, equipment identification, supports, grounding and bonding, housekeeping, and visible installation condition. Compare completed installations against approved drawings and basic project requirements. Take photographs and document inspection observations using approved project systems. Record identified deficiencies and communicate findings to the QC Coordinator, QC Manager, or designated supervisor. Perform follow-up visual inspections after corrective work has been completed. Assist with basic punchlist inspections and closeout activities. Support system walkdowns and field quality observations. Assist with tracking completed inspections and outstanding deficiencies. Maintain accurate inspection records and supporting documentation. Verify that required labels, signage, and identification are installed where applicable. Assist QC personnel with gathering inspection records, photographs, and other supporting documentation. Communicate field quality concerns to appropriate QC leadership. Maintain professional communication with field supervision and project personnel. Follow established Site-Specific Quality Plan requirements and project QC procedures. Perform inspections only within assigned responsibilities and level of qualification. Escalate technical questions, complex deficiencies, or questionable conditions to senior QC personnel. Education & Qualifications Required 1-3 years of electrical construction, construction quality, or related field experience. Basic understanding of electrical construction practices. Basic ability to read electrical drawings and installation details. Familiarity with common electrical materials, equipment, and installation methods. Ability to identify basic workmanship and installation deficiencies. Ability to use mobile devices or tablets for inspection documentation and photographs. Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow established inspection procedures and direction from QC leadership. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred (Not Required) Previous electrical field or QA/QC experience. Exposure to commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction. Familiarity with the National Electrical Code. Experience using Procore, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, or similar construction platforms.
