Get Hands-On Experience. Build a Career. Texas Steel Conversion is a structured training program designed for entry-level candidates who are interested in building a career in Quality Control and the steel manufacturing industry. No previous QC or steel industry experience is required. Selected candidates will receive classroom instruction and hands-on field training to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful Quality Control Inspector. What to Expect in Texas Steel Conversion TSC combines classroom learning with hands-on field experience. Classroom Training Trainees will attend scheduled classes where they will learn the fundamentals of Quality Control, steel processing, inspection procedures, safety, measurements, specifications, and other industry-related material. You will be expected to participate in class, learn the material, complete assigned training, and demonstrate an understanding of the information presented. Hands-On Field Training After learning the material in the classroom, trainees will transition into the field to apply what they have learned in an actual manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of experienced team members, trainees will gain practical experience with: Inspecting steel pipe and identifying quality requirements Using measuring tools and inspection equipment Applying classroom knowledge to real production situations Reading work orders, specifications, and inspection requirements Documenting inspection results Following Quality Control procedures Following all safety requirements Working alongside production and QC personnel The Goal The goal of Texas Steel Conversion is to provide you with the knowledge, training, and hands-on experience needed to progress toward becoming a certified Quality Control Inspector. Successful trainees will have the opportunity to continue developing their skills and work toward QC Inspector certification , opening the door to a long-term career in the steel and manufacturing industry. Training Environment Texas Steel Conversion is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on industrial training. Trainees should be prepared to spend time in a classroom setting learning technical material and then apply that knowledge during field training in an active steel manufacturing environment. The field portion of the program may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, working around steel pipe and industrial equipment, and working in varying temperatures.
