Full Job Description Responsibilities:
Utilize specifications given by SICAR FARMS and USDA standards to evaluate the quality of the product (size, condition, weight, etc.) Learn and know the use of the tools needed to perform quality inspections of the product: calipers, scales, thermometers, etc. Perform inspections of all incoming product, product being done in Production, stored in inventory and outgoing product. Assure product meets the standards required Make decisions whether product meets standards and can be retained or shipped as is, needs to be re-worked or rejected. Assure that a report for each inspection is being done whether it is in inbound, production, inventory or outbound and if quality fails to meet standards, communicate any problems/defects found to Quality Control lead and/or Supervisor. Send out reports to corresponding people. Verify that all labeling specifications are adhered to. Maintain in an orderly fashion manner all records of inspections Assure that whatever is going to be shipped out is fully inspected, in-compliance, and authorized by Food Safety standards. Full collaboration with external Inspectors such as USDA, FDA, etc. Participate in any other commodity related tasks or Special projects such as keeping areas clean, organizing documents, cleaning and/or organizing tools that are used for inspections, assisting production, or gathering and monitoring samples.
Education and Knowledge:
High School Certificate. Be able to prioritize work and be able to be independent. Ability to use and read measuring devices such as scales, calipers, thermometers, etc. Proficient in Microsoft office. 1 to 2 years experience in similar position or produce industry preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
