We're looking for a detail-oriented PCBA Quality Inspector to join our production team and help ensure every board we ship meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. Position Summary The PCBA Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects, verify compliance with quality standards, and ensure products meet customer and industry specifications before shipment. Key Responsibilities Visually inspect PCBAs at various stages of assembly (pre-reflow, post-reflow, post-wave solder, final assembly) for defects such as solder bridges, tombstoning, misalignment, cold joints, and missing components Perform inspections in accordance with IPC-A-610 and/or
J-STD-001
standards Use magnification tools, microscopes, and/or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to verify solder joint quality and component placement Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and bill of materials (BOM) to confirm correct component placement and orientation Document inspection results, defects, and non-conformances using quality tracking systems Communicate quality issues to production and engineering teams and assist with root cause identification Perform first article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality checks Maintain calibration records for inspection tools and equipment Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defect rates Ensure compliance with ESD (electrostatic discharge) handling procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required [1-3]+ years of experience in PCBA inspection, electronics assembly, or a related quality role
IPC-A-610
certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small defects consistently Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and BOMs Experience with AOI, X-ray inspection, or similar equipment a plus Basic computer skills for data entry and quality documentation Ability to stand for extended periods and use magnification tools for close visual work Key Skills Certifications & Standards
