Job Description
Autoliv's primary goal is to Save More Lives. Our products never get a second chance. This is why we can never compromise on quality. We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Quality Technician. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day quality activities in their assigned manufacturing area. They are responsible for addressing reactive quality concerns as well as identifying proactive quality improvements. Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve : Lead continuous improvement initiatives and systemic defect elimination efforts within the assigned area, driving sustainable quality performance and reducing Total Non-Quality Cost (TNQC). Champion and promote the application of core quality methodologies and standards, including PPAP, FMEA, IATF, VDA, Jidoka, Zero Defect, and Quality First principles in both product design and manufacturing processes. Ensure compliance with all customer-specific quality requirements, maintaining stable, capable, and controlled processes that consistently meet quality expectations. Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities while escalating critical quality issues when necessary. Provide leadership and support to the production team by defining quality training needs, developing team capabilities, evaluating performance, and fostering a culture aligned with the Autoliv Way and Q5 behaviors.
If you have/are:
High School Diploma required; ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) preferred. Experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment , with knowledge of production quality systems and process controls. Proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies , including 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, DOE, and root cause analysis techniques. Strong understanding of statistical quality tools , such as Process Capability Analysis, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and data-driven quality improvement methods. Working knowledge of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methodologies and their application in both product development and manufacturing process design to prevent defects and improve quality performance.
