BAE Systems is looking for a self-motivating Receiving Inspector to join their exciting team in Greenlawn, NY. The Receiving Inspector will report to the Quality Manager and perform the following tasks: Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed. Required Education, Experience, & Skills High school diploma or GED 1-2+ years of inspection experience Ability to read, interpret and inspect technical specifications and engineering drawings Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and go/no go gauges Ability to read and understand military standards, process sheets and other documentation related to the inspection of printed wiring boards, electrical and mechanical piece parts and assemblies Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and work with a multidisciplinary team Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills 4+ years of inspection experience Works from drawings, process sheets, engineering change orders, and written / verbal instruction to inspect mechanically complex parts, subassemblies and assemblies against required quality standards Identifies defects, follows company procedures operations sheets Inspects parts, subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications or repairs to verify defects have been corrected and ensure continuity to drawings, prints, etc. May interface with engineering regarding technical issues and problem resolution Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
