Responsibilities Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections in accordance with state guidelines, including safety features, emissions systems, brakes, lights, tires, and other critical components Utilize hand tools and power tools to assess vehicle condition and identify mechanical deficiencies Document inspection results accurately and clearly, providing detailed reports on vehicle status and required repairs Communicate inspection findings effectively to vehicle owners or service advisors, explaining necessary repairs or adjustments Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or auto restoration projects when needed Operate heavy lifting equipment safely to move vehicles or parts during inspection or repair processes Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety protocols at all times Experience Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and vehicle maintenance Mechanical knowledge of auto body repair, auto restoration, and general automotive service procedures Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in vehicle inspections Familiarity with automotive safety standards and emissions testing procedures required by state regulations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during inspection or repair tasks Prior experience working as an auto inspector or in a similar automotive service role is highly preferred Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills to explain technical findings clearly This role is perfect for motivated professionals eager to leverage their automotive expertise in a rewarding environment dedicated to safety and quality.
