Summary Description:
Our aerospace client in Moses Lake is seeking a Quality Inspector III to joing their team. The Quality inspector is responsible for carrying out physical inspections on the Flight Test Aircraft as well as signing the release for flight. This role requires the significant exercise of independent discretion and judgment in matters of significance.
Responsibilities:
Carry out physical inspections on Flight Test Aircraft to identify damage or defects and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards. Sign the release for flight form on aircrafts that pass Quality Inspection. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Observe and certify conformity with system tests. Carry out daily audits related to shop floor practices or specific Quality System elements. Prepare and audit Aircraft documentation such as Technical logs. Administer non-conformance reports and snag reports. Conduct Authority audits with QA organization as needed. Perform Nondestructive testing (NDT) as needed. Complete special projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager. Frequently sit, stand, walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds on ocassion.
Qualifications:
A&P License required. 10+ years of experience in aircraft release as a Quality Inspector within experimental flight testing, aircraft maintenance, or pre-flight environments. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation safety rules (FOD, hazardous materials, quality, aircraft marshalling), and aircraft systems (electrical, maintenance, aerodynamics, instrumentation, gas turbine/piston engines). Strong inspection, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments. Proficent in operating computer systems and programs including Microsoft office preferred. Inspection Authorization (IA) and NDT Certification- highly preferred. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee.
