Job Description

Position Summary Tahoma Print and Manufacturing (TPM) is seeking a skilled Finishing Bindery Operator. This position is responsible for operating a variety of finishing/bindery machinery. This position ensures the accurate production and finishing of high-quality printed materials, from initial press output through final cutting, laminating, and fabrication. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot finishing equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to quality, safety, and teamwork. TPM is focused on leveraging our existing assets to generate above-market returns for the Puyallup Tribe and our strategic partners. We are looking for highly motivated professionals with proven technical, strategic, and analytical skills. This critical role will support our manufacturing division, as we continue to grow and diversify our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts Set up and operate finishing equipment, including guillotine cutters, laminators, semi-automatic die cutters, CNC flatbed, and laser cutter Perform precision measuring, cutting, trimming, laminating, and fabrication tasks Ensure all finished products meet specifications and quality standards Assist with advanced equipment such as CNC or laser cutters as skills develop Read and interpret work orders and technical drawings Monitor workflow and meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards Perform additional projects / tasks as assigned Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and share information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TPM Use all company resources efficiently to promote maximum financial results for TPM; maintain TPM equipment and assets to maximize return on investment Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate Strictly follow workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses Always maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TPM assets
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 18 years or older High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience 2+ years of machine operating experience Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting Ability to accurately read work orders and technical drawings Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work PC proficiency Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines Self-driven and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Good verbal and written communication skills in English Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to pass a background check Preferred Experience with large format digital press operation 5+ years finishing-bindery production Any mechanical or machine operator certifications Proficiency with measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, and micrometers/calipers
