Pay Rate:
$20/hr- $25.58/hr on W2 Job Summary We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support a Materials Development & Testing laboratory. The position will perform testing on plumbing products and components, operate laboratory equipment, collect and document test results, prepare reports, and assist with equipment maintenance and calibration. The technician will work under the guidance of senior technicians and the Materials Laboratory Manager while gradually taking ownership of routine projects and daily testing activities. Key Responsibilities Perform testing according to
ASME, CSA, ASTM, IAPMO
, and other applicable standards. Prepare and organize test samples based on project priorities. Operate laboratory equipment, including environmental chambers, xenon arc weathering equipment, and universal testing machines. Set up instrumentation and perform various product and component tests. Observe, record, and communicate test results and unusual findings. Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and results. Prepare professional reports using MS Excel and Word . Communicate with customers when additional project or sample information is required. Perform color matching and understand basic color spaces and differences. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Clean and troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with equipment manufacturers when necessary. Follow
ISO 17025
calibration procedures . Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and notify management when replenishment is required. Support routine projects and collaborate with product development, operations, and quality teams. Complete assigned projects under the mentorship of senior laboratory staff. Qualifications Associate degree in Science or equivalent experience. Preferably 2-3 years of related experience . Mechanical aptitude. Strong computer skills. Familiarity with metal/wood shop tools. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to multitask and manage priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test .
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
