Job Description

Kaysun Corporation, located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is a leader in providing highly engineered injection molded products to OEM's throughout North America and beyond. We have an opportunity for a Layout Technician/CMM Programmer to support Kaysun's Quality and Engineering department. This flexible first-shift position requires regular hours outside Kaysun's normal schedule to work either earlier or later to support equipment calibration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, prioritize, and communicate the inspection schedule with Engineering and Quality. Collaborate with Project and Quality Engineers to review customer drawings, specifications, GD&T, and measurement requirements. Develop inspection plans, programs, fixtures, and methods for new parts throughout tooling and injection molding process development. Program and operate CMM, vision, and other precision measurement equipment for first-article, layout, and PPAP inspections. Analyze and report inspection results to support tool corrections, process development, PPAP approval, and resolution of nonconforming product. Release proven inspection methods and programs to production and train personnel in their use. Maintain and troubleshoot CMMs, vision systems, gages, fixtures, software, and related inspection equipment used for serial-production inspections. Coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance, and service activities for inspection equipment, including scheduled work outside normal first-shift hours. Verify inspection equipment accuracy and support gage R&R and measurement-system studies. Evaluate improvements in inspection technology, methods, accuracy, and efficiency; perform other assigned duties as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum of one year of quality inspection or metrology experience in a manufacturing environment; injection molding experience preferred. An associate degree in a related field is a plus, but is not required. Experience programming and/or operating CMM and/or vision measurement equipment required; Zeiss CALYPSO or
OGP ZONE3
experience strongly preferred. CAD modeling experience is a plus. Working knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, dimensional inspection methods, gage R&R, and process capability. Ability to apply practical math, geometry, and trigonometry to inspection and measurement activities. Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification preferred. Ability and willingness to work a flexible first-shift schedule, including earlier or later hours, and overtime when needed. Occasional travel may be required for training or customer support. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, handling, and reaching; occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 pounds; and close vision.
