Job Title:
QA Technician - 3rd Shift Job Description We are seeking a dedicated QA Technician to join our team on the 3rd shift. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols in our food manufacturing plant. You will be working from 10pm to 6:30am, contributing to a rapidly growing startup that values quality and innovation. Responsibilities Review and approve records to ensure compliance. Identify deviations and initiate corrective actions, including root cause analyses. Manage the disposition of raw materials and products as Hold/Release/Quarantine and record these actions in the electronic WMS system. Conduct basic food safety, cGMP, and quality-related training for new hires. Assist in developing SOPs for manufacturing processes and compliance training. Provide support during regulatory and third-party audits. Conduct and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental testing as part of the Environmental Monitoring Program. Collect raw materials for testing and evaluate sensory characteristics for product approval and shelf-life studies. Work with production personnel to correct processes if products are non-compliant. Convey test results to appropriate personnel and follow up as needed. Complete audits based on the production schedule. Promote and follow GMPs for the facility. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in Food or GMP Manufacturing Quality. Strong knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF, GFSI, PCQI, and food safety regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications A degree in the sciences is preferred. Experience or training in SQF, HACCP, GFSI, or PCQI is a plus. Work Environment The work environment is a food manufacturing plant with a 50/50 split between lab and floor activities. Training for this role will last between 3 to 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to join a startup that has been featured on Shark Tank and is expanding its operations due to increased customer demand. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
