JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This hands-on position is responsible for inspecting products, verifying specifications, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering closely with production to drive quality at every stage of fabrication and powder coating operations. This role is ideal for an individual who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys being actively involved on the production floor, and is passionate about building quality into every process. The Quality Technician will help establish and support anISO 9001
2015 implementation, working alongside leadership to develop standardized processes, improve operational performance, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Inspection & Verification Read and interpret blueprints to ensure products meet specifications. Use monitoring and measuring equipment, gauges, and inspection tools to perform sampling, testing, and reporting. Verify material certifications and calibration standards. Assist with the development and implementation of aISO 9001-2015
compliant QMS. Perform visual inspections of powder-coated parts to ensure proper coverage, finish consistency, color accuracy, and overall visual quality. Identify visible defects such as light coating, drips, fisheyes, bare spots, contamination, orange peel, or improper cure. Immediately communicate quality concerns to the General Manager or production staff. Remove or flag defective parts for rework when required. Maintain a solid understanding of acceptable vs. unacceptable finishes according to company standards. Corrective & Preventative Action Take action regarding corrective and preventative measures for customer satisfaction, including RMA (Return Material Authorization) and non-conformance reports. Collaborate with the Production Team and Quality Manager to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and customer returns. Promote and enforce a culture of quality throughout all operations. Process Improvement & Continuous Learning Develop and track leading indicator metrics to improve company performance. Identify and implement improvements in inspection and quality control processes. Support ongoing training and development in quality standards and practices. Collaboration & Communication Work effectively with production to ensure quality goals are met. Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers regarding quality issues and requirements. Document findings and maintain accurate records of inspections and corrective actions. Touch Ups, Sanding and Rework Support Perform light touch-up work on parts prior to coating or after initial inspection, including sanding, smoothing, and surface preparation. Assist with re-prepping parts that require additional finishing before being re-coated. Use hand tools or sanding equipment safely to remove minor imperfections or correct surface issues. Ensure reworked parts are properly prepared and returned to the line for recoating.QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in powder coating operations, industrial production, or a related manufacturing environment required.PPAP/FAI
knowledge is a substantial plus. Knowledge of powdercoating is a substantial plus. Experience in anISO 9001-2015
environment preferred. Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and customer service-focused mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing production demands. Capable of working independently under leadership direction while maintaining accountability for outcomes. Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.Pay:
