Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Responsible for maintaining quality control procedures & work instructions, performing all types of inspections, and completing qualified product inspections. Works with the Quality Manager to ensure respective departments are operating within the Quality Management Systems.
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE QUALITY TECHNICIAN INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
1. Measuring parts that OMT has produced in house including parts produced from an outside vendor. Measurements are performed based on the Inprocess Inspection Report, customer's inspection report, customer criteria stated in purchase order, and/or direction from Operations Manager, Sales/ Engineering Manager, Project Manager or Quality Manager. 2. In conjunction with the Quality Manager, reviews and approves routines and instructions for adequate point of inspection operations; determines appropriate documentation for inspection points. Assists with inspection procedures and requirements. 3. Create and verify programs for CMM and ARM. 4. Verifies and maintains quality control records. Supports personnel to assure effective and competent performance of quality function. 5. Notify Quality Manager of all nonconforming products. Consults and reviews with Quality Manager as necessary. 6. Assists with the Quality Management System where and when needed. 7. Assures a clean work environment is maintained. 8. Adheres to all applicable ISO standards, procedures, and work instructions.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Quality Manager. Works/ communicates closely with Production (Machining & Stamping), Project Manager, Engineering and supports Customers.
EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS PREFFERRED
A high school diploma and experience in a manufacturing quality lab. Ability to use all manufacturing hand measuring instruments. Eg; calipers, height gauge, mics, bore gauges, gauge blocks & pins, etc. Knowledge of PC-DMIS and Polyworks software.
Pay:
$28.00 - $34.00 per hour
