Job Description

Northland Plastics is a family-owned custom profile extruder in Sheboygan (founded 1953, ~40 people) making precision plastic profiles for medical, automotive and industrial customers. Our parts are measured, not eyeballed. We're adding a Quality Assurance Technician to own product quality on the off-shift — the person production turns to when a dimension drifts at 2 AM.
Shift options:
2nd shift, 3 PM-11 PM Monday-Friday, or 3rd shift, 11 PM-7 AM starting Sunday night and ending Friday morning. 8-hour shifts, five days a week. What you'll do Perform first-piece, in-process and final dimensional and visual inspections on extruded profiles using calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, custom go/no-go gauges and an optical comparator Compare parts to customer drawings, control plans and master samples; approve line startups and product changes Document inspections, hold and segregate non-conforming product, and write clear reject/hold tags Enter inspection data in our ERP/quality system; help prepare Certificates of Conformance Work with operators to correct process drift; escalate to the shift supervisor and QA manager when needed Support audits, calibration records and continuous-improvement projects What we're looking for 1-3 years in manufacturing quality, inspection or a hands-on production role with inspection responsibility (plastics, extrusion or medical/automotive components a plus) Confident with precision measuring tools and reading drawings with tolerances Basic computer skills; comfortable entering data and following written procedures Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable making a hold/release call and explaining it Able to stand, walk and lift up to 30 lbs regularly Pay and benefits $24-$29/hour based on experience Health, dental, vision and life insurance 401(k) with 25% company match on up to 6% of pay (eligible after 90 days) Paid time off starting at 10 days (negotiable with experience) Tuition reimbursement 8-hour shifts, 40-hour weeks with occasional overtime — not 12-hour rotations Northland Plastics, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
