The Materials Testing Technician role will include working side by side with professionals (Giles, clients, colleagues, etc.) in a wide variety of fields within the civil and geotechnical industry. The civil and geotechnical engineering field encompasses many aspects of engineering therefore, this position will be an integral part of your career path. Individuals should have strong initiative and, with our training program, be able to perform routine to complex inspections and testing procedures; and write technical reports in regards to field and laboratory observations and testing, for verification of conformance to plans and specifications. Responsibilities:

Perform soil testing and observations on small and large scale residential, commercial, industrial, and private and public works construction projects Prepare technical reports for observed activities, providing documentation of findings Perform borehole logging, soil sampling, laboratory testing, and site observations Work with project personnel and clients to ensure that specifications are achieved Progressively increased role of responsibility in work assignments Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects Required skills: Attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills

Requirements:

Motivated team player with excellent attitude Willingness and eagerness to learn and be an integral part of the Giles team One year of relevant experience with a related educational background preferred Valid Driver's license with good driving record

Competitive Benefits Pay:
