Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on company products to ensure they meet all required legal and company standards for safety and quality. He/she is required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. In addition, he/she should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision and monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
Key responsibilities:
Supports activities to meet or exceed business goals around Safety, Training, Quality, Production, and Cost. Develops and maintains company inspection reports. Inspects goods or products according to quality and safety standards. Ensures goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State laws. Ensures test equipment is calibrated and working correctly. Reports quality anomalies to the supervisor. Collates test data and drafts quality reports. Identifies possible areas for improvement in quality control processes. Ensures that production processes are not hindered by quality testing procedures. Assists Quality Manager with various duties.
Essential qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Experience as an inspection or quality technician. Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts. High level of visual awareness. Advanced organizational skills. Experience drafting reports and collating data. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Ability to analyze and interpret technical information. Ability to stand for long periods.
Physical requirements:
Occasional bending and lifting required (50 pounds). Must be able to navigate the warehouse and reach items both high and low.
