Our studio blends craftsmanship with creativity and excellence, and we are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and reliable Dressmaking Atelier Sewing Assistant to join our team. If you're passionate about hand-sewing, hand-beading, hand-embellishing, you are organized, you have excellent customer relations and love hands-on work, we'd love to hear from you! As a Dressmaking Atelier Sewing Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our studio, serving in an hands-on role including tacking, beading, applying appliques and embellishments on dresses, steaming, assist with fittings and also ensure that the studio is clean and organized.

You will be responsible for:

Hand-sewing and embellishing garments with appliques and accessories using hand sewing techniques Assisting the lead designer with fittings Steaming of garments Ensuring the studio is clean and well organized by performing routine cleaning, organization and trash removal. Upholding the confidentiality of all proprietary designs and internal processes. Qualifications Must have at least 6 years of sewing experience Must be able to perform hand-sewing including tacking, hand-beading, applying appliques and embellishments on dresses. Previous experience in hand beading, embellishments or a similar role in a custom dressmaking atelier is an advantage. The ideal candidate should be able to use an industrial sewing machine for minor operations. Must be reliable, well organized, easy to work with and comfortable with cleaning and organizing an office space. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month. Willingness to follow brand policies, including confidentiality requirements. The job environment is fast-paced and excellence driven and so will require a candidate with a fast, can-do attitude and attention to detail. This is a contract role so the candidate should be comfortable working as an independent contractor.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
