Pay Rate:
$20-$25/hour (depending on relevant Metal Stamping Press Operator/Die Setter experience) Must have recent experience as a Metal Stamping Press Operator/Die Setter on Transfer and Progressive Presses Responsibilities Set up, align, and install stamping dies on presses with precision, ensuring proper operation according to technical specifications. Conduct routine inspections and adjustments of dies to maintain optimal performance during production runs. Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and quality standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to facilitate proper die setup and troubleshooting. Perform maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on dies and related tooling to prevent defects and extend equipment lifespan. Operate various machinery including CNC laser cutters, press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machines (EDM), and forming machines. Follow safety protocols diligently while handling heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts during die installation or material handling. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize die configurations for efficiency and quality improvements. Maintain detailed records of die setups, adjustments, maintenance activities, and inspection results for quality control purposes. Requirements Proven experience as a Metal Stamping Die Setter or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machine operation, tooling setup, and metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints (GD&T included), and shop math principles. Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, EDM machining, and machining tools such as CNC mills and lathes. Ability to operate measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement devices for quality inspection. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques such as forming machines and press operations. Basic understanding of welding techniques and assembly processes is advantageous. Capable of performing shop math calculations accurately for measurement conversions and dimension checks. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining tooling records and inspection documentation. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
