Job Summary The Sewing Machine Operator II is a vital contributor to our manufacturing team, responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality garments and upholstery products. This role involves precise seam construction, fabric handling, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The operator will utilize measuring instruments and perform manual fabric cutting to ensure accurate dimensions and consistent product standards. A strong understanding of garment sewing, embroidery, serging, and materials handling is essential to meet production goals efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment. Duties Operate industrial sewing machines and sergers to assemble garments, upholstery, or other fabric-based products according to detailed specifications. Measure fabrics and finished products using measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards. Perform manual cutting of fabric materials with precision tools to prepare pieces for sewing or assembly. Construct seams with proper seam techniques, ensuring durability and adherence to garment construction standards. Monitor the quality of work throughout the production process, inspecting finished items against quality standards in production. Handle materials carefully within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, movement, and inventory control. Follow safety standards in production areas, including machine operation safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment. Qualifications Proven experience operating sewing machines, including industrial sewing machines and sergers, in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional measurements for fabric and finished products. Familiarity with garment sewing, upholstery fabrication, embroidery techniques, and seam construction. Ability to handle fabric materials safely and efficiently while maintaining high-quality output. Understanding of safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents or injuries. Experience with manual cutting (fabric cutting) processes for precise material preparation. Strong attention to detail with excellent skills in quality control in accordance with production standards.
