Duties Operate standard or high-speed sewing machines to perform a variety of operations in the manufacture of cadet uniforms Work from specifications and patterns to produce uniform components to required tolerances Maintain equipment and report malfunctions promptly Follow all site safety, security, and quality procedures Measure fabric materials and finished products using measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy according to specifications. Conduct manual fabric cutting and seam construction to create components that adhere to quality standards in production. Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, movement, and inventory control of fabrics and finished goods. Maintain strict adherence to safety standards during machine operation and materials handling to prevent accidents or injuries. Inspect sewn products for quality compliance, checking seam construction, fabric integrity, and overall craftsmanship against established quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines and serging equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Experience Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines, including embroidery and serging equipment, in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Knowledge of garment sewing, upholstery fabrication, and seam construction techniques. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as rulers, tape measures, and calipers for precise dimensional measurements. Understanding of quality standards in production environments to identify defects or inconsistencies promptly. Experience handling fabric materials, including cutting, sewing, and assembling diverse textiles such as upholstery fabrics or garment textiles. Ability to interpret technical drawings or manufacturing instructions related to garment construction or upholstery projects. Prior warehouse experience is preferred to efficiently manage materials handling and inventory processes while maintaining safety standards.
