Job Description
Job description Tarpstop is a Midwest U.S.A.-based manufacturer of flat-bed tarps and tarping systems. We have four locations to serve our customers and a great selection of tarpaulin and cargo control products. Our Tarp Makers are responsible for taking the raw vinyl tarp material and turning it into panels for our tarping systems. The right candidate will be trained to work using industrial sewing machinery; no previous experience with tarping systems is required! We're looking for candidates who are dedicated and dependable to fill 1st shift time openings at our Northjackson, Ohio location. Qualified candidates will be quick learners with an aptitude for measurement and strong attention to detail. You must be team-oriented, punctual, and enjoy meeting challenges with a desire to succeed. Job Duties Measures, cuts, sews, grommets, and stencils materials as requested Notifies supervisor when the item is complete and ready for inspection Meets or exceeds customer requirements for production and quality Packages/labels items according to guidelines set forth Operates equipment including but not limited to Sewing Machine, Heat Sealer, Fork Lift, RF Welder, Grommet Machine, Heat Gun, Pallet Jack Repairs customer equipment as required using equipment previously listed Reads & interprets team leader instructions and written orders Maintains a clean and safe work environment Requirements Ability to read a tape measure as well as add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, splitting feet into inches in half Comply with the handbook, policies, and all safety rules With regard to quality, accuracy, and safety Ability to work in a team Purchase and maintain necessary tools Read and write English Minimal overnight and offsite travel may be required Good hand-eye coordination Physical Requirements Ability to individually lift, pull and drag material weighing up to 100 lbs Stand, sit or kneel up to and including an 8-hour shift Work on the floor for extended periods of time with continuous getting-up and kneeling down actions Performs other duties and assignments as required We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a casual work environment.
