In this vital role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining stamping transfer presses to fabricate, form or draw materials according to production specifications. Duties Set up and run transfer/progressive dies on mechanical presses, including proper die alignment, shut height setting, and guide post/bushing verification Read and interpret tool prints, die assembly drawings, and GD&T callouts to set up tooling correctly Identify and correct tooling wear issues (bushings, pins, punches, strippers) before they impact part quality or safety Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks against print specifications Troubleshoot press and tooling issues in real time, minimizing downtime Perform preventive maintenance on dies, including punch/die PM scheduling and component replacement Maintain compliance with OSHA press safety standards, including point-of-operation guarding requirements Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE Record production data and complete necessary documentation Work closely with team leads and maintenance staff to resolve issues Maintain a clean and organized work area Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a press operator or in a manufacturing/production environment preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders Strong attention to detail and quality Basic math and mechanical skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Willingness to work full time plus some overtime
