POSITION SUMMARY
The Stationary Engineer surveys the hospital on a routine basis to inspect heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical equipment. Responds to calls for emergency repairs. Conducts routine inspections of mechanical equipment and boilers. Performs minor repairs or replaces broken or worn parts on mechanical equipment. Gives work directions to Boiler Operators and provides relief coverage. Coordinates work activities for his shift. Maintains logs of all work performed. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area. Functions as a member of the hospital fire response team. Studies manuals and journals to maintain technical competency and learns about new equipment.- 2nd shift; Monday-Friday; 11:00pm-7:00am, weekend rotation
