Cedar Park Group is hiring an experienced Stationary Engineer to support powerhouse operations in Elmira, NY . This is a full-time opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional with experience operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers and associated powerhouse equipment.
Pay Rate:
$70.00 per hour
Schedule:
The facility operates 24/7, including holidays. All shifts may be available. Schedules will include regular days off and may be adjusted based on facility needs.
Position Overview:
The Stationary Engineer will operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, generators, pumps, compressors, water-treatment systems, and other powerhouse equipment. This position also performs routine testing, preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and required operational record keeping.
Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain Cleaver-Brooks water-tube boilers, including three 30,000 PPH boilers and one 10,000 PPH boiler with dual-fuel capability Maintain the deaerator tank, boiler feedwater system, and five feed pumps Monitor chemical-injection pumps and controllers and change chemical barrels Maintain condensate tanks and transfer pumps and perform weekly blowdowns Monitor and maintain deaerator and condensate-return tanks Maintain the water-softener system, including adding solar salt Clean and maintain fuel pumps and strainers Perform and monitor conductivity blowdowns Monitor and maintain boiler and deaerator chemicals Perform daily boiler-water testing Maintain and monitor two Ingersoll Rand screw-type air compressors used for boiler air Monitor the facility's heating and air-conditioning system through the building management system and maintain appropriate temperatures Operate and monitor two 2,000 KW CAT generators and facility switchgear Operate and monitor the 125 KW Cummins generator and powerhouse switchgear Monitor Powerhouse No. 2 fuel-oil tanks and switch tanks when operating on oil Conduct monthly emergency stationary-generator testing Complete all required facility record keeping
Requirements:
Previous experience operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers and powerhouse equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of boiler-water treatment, pumps, compressors, generators, and related systems Ability to read gauges, meters, controls, technical manuals, and equipment documentation Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and required recordkeeping Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to equipment or operational issues Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays Ability to meet all facility security and background-check requirements Willingness to work within or adjacent to an active secure correctional environment No Stationary Engineer or boiler operator license is required for this position
