Job DescriptionOverall Purpose and Objective of PositionThe Utilities Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating plant boilers including all auxiliary equipment, responding to equipment issues or alarms, works in a safe and clean manner ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards, and reports to the Utilities Supervisor. Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills, as well as a willingness to work a rotating shift schedule is required. Primary Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsMonitor and operate plant boilers including all ancillary equipment in the facility, such as Water Treatment Systems, Air Compressors, Wastewater Treatment Systems, and Refrigeration SystemsRespond to equipment issues or alarms; investigates and initiates resolutionEnsures compliance with Company safety rules and wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities Additional responsibilities include monitoring and adjustment of the water treatment plant, and cooling tower water quality and the operation of the Deodorizer vacuum system refrigeration system.

Work in an organized, safe, and clean manner, ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards Additional Responsibilities/FunctionsEnsures work area is kept free from safety hazards which require regular bending and occasional lifting. Fully responsible for housekeeping as directed by managementCompletes tasks assigned by the Utilities SupervisorActively participates in Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.

Actively participates in job-related training as required.

Waste Water Experience ExperienceBasic qualifications:2-5 years of operating High Pressure Boilers Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)Broad knowledge of steam processes, procedures, and equipmentBroad knowledge of water testing methodsBroad knowledge of plant production processes, procedures, and equipmentStrong mathematical skills and the ability to use statistical software.

Ability to communicate in a professional manner both written and verbalAbility to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent attention to detail General industrial maintenance knowledgeKnowledge of wastewater management Equipment UsedStandard water testing equipmentTypical office equipment: PC, telephone, printer/scanner, fax machine.
