Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Industrial Boiler &; Burner Service Technician for an immediate opening. This is a field service position for a qualified, road-ready technician who can be assigned a service truck and begin handling commercial and industrial service calls after company orientation. We are a family-owned commercial heating company specializing in boiler rooms, burners, controls, piping, and related mechanical equipment throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This position is best suited for someone with hands-on boiler and burner experience who can work safely, communicate professionally, and complete accurate service documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
This position includes troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, maintaining, starting up, commissioning, and installing commercial and industrial boiler room equipment. Work includes emergency service, annual maintenance, combustion analysis, shutdowns, repairs, and customer service calls on steam, hot water, hydronic, condensing, and process heating systems.  High- and low-pressure steam, hot water, hydronic, and condensing boiler systems  Cast-iron sectional, firetube, watertube, and commercial condensing boilers  Gas and oil burners, burner management controls, flame safeguard controls, operating controls, and safety controls  Natural gas and propane gas trains, fuel oil systems, valves, regulators, safeties, and related components  Feedwater systems, condensate systems, boiler feed pumps, circulators, tanks, and heat exchangers  Unit heaters, furnaces, water heaters, industrial ovens, and process heating equipment  Boiler piping, pipe leaks, boiler sections, breeching, vent stacks, refractory, valves, motors, VFDs, and control panels
Job Qualifications:
Qualified applicants should be experienced commercial/industrial boiler and burner service technicians capable of working independently in the field after company orientation.  3-5 years of commercial or industrial boiler, burner, HVAC, or mechanical service experience required  RI and/or MA Pipefitter, PJF Oil, and/or PFG Gas mechanical licenses strongly preferred  Strong troubleshooting skills with boilers, burners, flame safeguard controls, operating controls, pumps, piping, gas trains, fuel oil systems, and electrical components  Ability to perform combustion testing and burner adjustments  Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications  Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, control circuits, automation controls, VFDs, and pipefitting preferred  Valid driver's license and good driving record required  Must be able to work safely in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, confined spaces, high places, and high- temperature environments  Must be able to lift 40+ lbs. and work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and staging when required  Participation in the on-call rotation is required. Applicant must be available for after-hours emergency service, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
