A Brief Overview The O&M Stationary Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the O&M building site by investigating and resolving complex problems related to cooling, heating, and pressure flow. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. What you will do Analyzes results from testing and treatment of all mechanical and generating equipment. Repairs, adjusts, calibrates electrical and electronic control systems, electrical power distribution equipment, computer systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration and steam systems. Diagnoses trouble calls and determines appropriate action to be taken. Updates procedures to reflect changes in codes and regulations. Education Qualifications Required

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Qualifications Required
• Operational/maintenance high-pressure steam plant environment 5-7 years Skills and Abilities Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.

Must possess a high degree of skill and proficiency in all areas of general physical plant engineering operations and maintenance in the technical fields involved, which may be acquired through on-the-job training, supplemented by educational and vocational courses, or related experience. Must be knowledgeable of system operations, including emergency procedures. Must be knowledgeable in electrical, electronics, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, computerized monitoring and control systems, and other specialized equipment or control systems common to plant operations. Knowledgeable of emergency procedures. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment. Ability to organize and maintain control of work-flow. Licenses and Certifications Required

• First-Class Refrigeration Engineer
• Shelby County Required
• First-Class Steam Operating Engineer
• Shelby County Preferred
• EPA Universal Certification
• Environmental Protection Agency Preferred
• First Class Proficiency Contractors License
• Shelby County Supervision Provided by this Position There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally assign duties or demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associates.
