Job Description

The Tool and Die Maker will work from blueprints, sketches, computer-aided (CAD) and/or computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) files. Set up, operate manual and CNC machine tools. The Tool and Die maker will be able to use all measuring and inspection tools including micrometer, vernier calipers and other job specific hand tools.
Primary responsibilities:
Plan, develop, lay out, fabricate, assemble, maintain and repair tools and dies Skilled in lathe, mill and surface grinding Ability to operate secondary equipment for maintaining drills, endmills as necessary CNC Operator Ability to read complex blueprints, sketches and models as necessary Set-up and operate all types of machine tools necessary to accomplish work assignments Heat treating skills and welding is a plus Assist in all production departments with problems relating to the operation of a specific tool, die, jigs or fixtures Verify dimensions, alignments and clearance using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges The candidate will need the following High school diploma or GED Basic computer skills CNC programming a plus Experience with progressive metal stamping dies Maintain a good, cooperative and respectful attitude Must be able to follow detail instructions Comply with safety laws and regulations Job function requires excellent vision Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Must be excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to read and write in English Be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 50 lbs, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing. $26.50 - $31.92 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
