Job Description
The SAU Tech Career Academy is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher for its Manufacturing & Defense Program. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in basic manufacturing and technical skills used in the defense industry and be able to provide hands-on instruction that prepares high school students for entry-level employment. Desired Knowledge and Skills Candidates should be knowledgeable in areas including, but not limited to: Basic Tooling and Proper Tool Usage Basic Torquing Techniques Safety Wire Installation Cotter Pinning Eddie-Bolt Fastener Installation Basic Manufacturing and Assembly Practices Workplace and Shop Safety Proper Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Reading and Following Basic Technical Instructions and Procedures Employability Skills Needed for Entry-Level Defense Industry Positions Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to work effectively with high school students. Strong communication skills. Dependable, professional, and able to follow established policies and procedures.
