In this dynamic role, you will lead a team of machinists and technicians, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. Your expertise in mold fabrication, CNC machining, and blueprint interpretation will drive the successful production of complex tooling components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence manufacturing excellence and innovation within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the mold fabrication team to meet production schedules and quality standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide mold design and fabrication processes. Work with fiberglass laminates, gel coat, resin systems, release agents and related materials. Perform manual machining operations using hand tools, grinders, tape measure, and other precision measurement instruments to achieve tolerances. Maintain tooling parts inventory and equipment. Collaborate with engineering teams on tool & die development projects and implement continuous process improvements. Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to shop math, metal machining, welding, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations). Skills Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the tooling team. Help train and develop new and existing team members. Strong understanding of vacuum molding processes and tooling requirements. Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality assurance in machining operations. Mechanical blueprint interpretation with a focus on shop math for accurate fabrication setups. Hands-on experience with welding techniques relevant to mold fabrication. Ability to read measurement tools including calipers, tape measure, and other precision instruments. Experience with toolroom operations involving tool & die making, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
