Job Description

Basic Purpose and Objective Under general supervision and according to established policy and procedures the tool and die maker is responsible for performing his/her own set-ups and machine/grind all necessary components required to complete assignments given to support all manufacturing product lines. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Strong understanding of slip and press fit relationships. Repair Header tools and make complete header tool components. Work with carbide, hardened tool steels, dies and cutting tools to close tolerance. Work with mills, lathes, surface grinders, hones and fixtures. Use shop math as required. Clean and maintain the work area. Skills and Formal Training Requirements/Experience Good machining skills. Shop math Must be able to read blueprints. Use measuring instruments (i.e., micrometers, calipers, comparators). Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a tool maker for a manufacturing facility.
