As our 2nd Shift Tool Designer, you will be the engineering brains behind the physical muscle of our production line. You won't just sit behind a screen—you will collaborate directly with master tool and die makers to build robust, high-precision tooling that powers our busy cold heading and hot forge departments. If you are ready to take total ownership of complex mechanical layouts and watch your designs stamp out real-world products, we want you on our team. What You'll Do (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

Design & Innovate:

Create hyper-precise parametric solid models, intricate 2D drawings, and complete component packaging in a 3D solid modeling environment.

Bring Blueprints to

Life:

Use your design and drafting expertise to engineer component part drawings, complex mechanical layouts, and step-by-step work instructions for existing and next-generation products.

Master ASME Standards:

Draft complex mechanical layouts, routers, and schematics that flawlessly meet ASME standards.

Own the

Math:

Execute absolute precision by managing component tolerance stack-ups and applying GD&T dimensioning flawlessly.

Keep Production Moving:

Proactively monitor lead times for parts procurement, ensuring our manufacturing schedule never misses a beat. What You Bring (Education, Experience & Skills)

SolidWorks Expertise:

5 to 10 years of hands-on parametric modeling experience in SolidWorks, with advanced proficiency in configurations and design tables.

ASME & GD&T
Mastery:

Extensive knowledge of ASME modeling and drafting standards (including Y14.5) and a deep understanding of GD&T applications and implications.

Manufacturing Blueprint Fluency:

The ability to read, interpret, and reverse-engineer complex blueprints, router instructions, and specifications.

Design for

Manufacturability:

A proven track record of designing components optimized for efficient, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly.

Shop Math & Reasoning:

Sharp algebra and geometry skills, paired with strong critical thinking to solve complex, real-world layout challenges.

Tech & Communication Basics:

Intermediate to advanced comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), QAD ERP software, and clear, professional verbal and written communication.

Shift & Location Requirements Location:
  • 100% In-Person in Santa Ana, CA (Must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting).   • For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.00 to $44.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
  • This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
