We are seeking a dedicated Tool Crib Attendant to join our manufacturing and industrial services team. The position involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment while ensuring tools and materials are properly organized and readily available. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively work with both internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and capable of completing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards and cost awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribute, receive, and organize tools and materials needed for production activities Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure availability Oversee damaged or worn tools and recommend appropriate actions such as repair or replacement Coordinate with outside vendors to track tool repairs and returns Ensure proper storage by organizing items neatly within designated areas and containers Label inventory clearly using tags or other identification systems Prepare incoming and outgoing stock by packing and unpacking materials as needed Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the tool room, equipment, and storage areas Follow all safety procedures to reduce risks related to mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic hazards Work collaboratively with departments such as purchasing, maintenance, quality, and safety to support operations Maintain and organize technical manuals and reference materials for equipment upkeep Operate equipment like forklifts or cranes if authorized Assist with maintenance or repair tasks related to tools and equipment when required Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs) and alternating between standing, walking, and sitting throughout the shift with scheduled breaks Carry out all duties in accordance with established safety practices

Required Qualifications:

2 years of Tool Room familiarity in inventory systems and tool crib or machine shop environments Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Physically capable of performing job duties, including reaching, climbing ladders, and working in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, etc.) while using appropriate PPE Must be okay with working overtime and weekends when needed Comfortable using precision measuring instruments Strong coordination skills when working with internal teams and external suppliers Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
