Permanent opportunity Position Summary and Special Duties As an EDM Specialist, you will program, set up, and operate sinker EDM machines in a moldmaking environment. This role requires strong machine programming skills, precision inspection ability, and the capability to manufacture simple electrodes using a surface grinder. You will be responsible for producing high-accuracy components and ensuring consistent EDM performance. Your day-to-day duties will include, but may not be limited to: Program, set up, and run sinker EDM machines Write and adjust programs as needed (AgieCharmilles FORM 20 experience is a plus) Manufacture simple electrodes using a manual surface grinder Inspect electrodes and finished parts using indicators, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools Work to extremely tight tolerances (±0.0002") Apply strong knowledge of EDM processes including orbitals, discharge gaps, and material characteristics Use and understand EROWA or 3R tooling systems Maintain the EDM work area, check setups, and ensure consistent machine performance Collaborate with moldmakers, engineers, and toolroom personnel to support mold builds and repairs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Job Specifications Minimum of 3 years of EDM experience (sinker EDM required) Ability to program and run EDM machines independently Experience manufacturing electrodes using a surface grinder Ability to inspect your own work with precision to ±0.0002" Strong knowledge of EDM processes and moldmaking fundamentals Familiarity with EROWA or 3R systems Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and part models Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability High attention to detail and accuracy Opportunity This is a full-time, stable opportunity for a skilled EDM Specialist looking to join a high-quality moldmaking environment.
