Tool and Die Builder Wichita, KS 6 month Contract to hire Pay depends on experience Job Responsibilities Construct and plan the layout of tools and dies based on Tool Design, Engineering, and related documentation. Read and interpret Methods, Engineering, and Tool Design documents, drawings, and specifications. Set up and operate a variety of shop machinery, including: Mills Lathes Drill presses Surface grinders Table routers Power hand tools Heat-treat ovens Assemble tools and dies using precision measurement equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Evaluate the producibility of tools and dies and provide estimated labor hours for construction through Methods Document review. Determine the raw materials required for tool and die construction and place orders as needed. Apply a working knowledge of tool and die construction principles to support the successful fabrication and assembly of tooling. Qualifications & Experience Working knowledge of tool and die construction. Relevant experience in machining, sheet metal, fabrication, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in tool and die construction. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including Methods, Engineering, and Tool Design documentation. Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment and various machine shop equipment. #ind1
