Job Description

Follow all established safety, health and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations to work involving accurate relationships and extremely close tolerances Plans construction procedures and methods; including but not limited to; selecting the proper materials, compute dimensions and plan layout, machining, and assembly operations. Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring and inspection devices such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, micrometers and eye loupes Set-up and operate machine tools such as lathe, vertical milling machine, surface and jig grinders, as well as some specialty grinders, to machine parts and tooling to tolerances of within .0002 and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications Heat treats various tool steels to the required hardness specification Examine standard or previously used tools or dies and use proper judgment in evaluating the need for modifications or replacements to be made Calculate all punch and die clearances as well as all tooling dimensions Maintain good housekeeping standards All other duties as assigned by manager ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
