Lathe Full Job Description Job Title:

Tool & Die Maker - 1st

Shift Reports To:

VP Production Department:

Tool Room/Production General Function:

Build, repair and maintain dies, diagnose issues, correct and improve tooling and fixtures to support production.

Job Duties :

Build and repair precision tooling, jigs and fixtures using machine shop tools and measuring instruments. Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies and jigs. Set up and operate all tool room equipment. Work hands on with lathes, mills, surface grinders and all tool room equipment. Heat treat different metals and test hardness. Assist production with problem solving on tooling issues. Safety conscious to include proper use of P.P.E ProtoTRAK mill experience a plus. Other duties as assigned by management.

Working Conditions :

Climate controlled factory environment; working in and out of presses with tooling. Exposure to industrial environments, including oils, solvents, and machinery (P.P.E. provided). Physical Component(s ): Standing and walking up to 100% of work time. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs to include pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and some stooping.

Education/Experience:

minimum 5 years proven experience working as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment. Journeyman's Tool and Die Maker's card or certification a plus.

Other Requirements:

Excellent attendance. Team player with solid communication skills. Must have own tools.
