$21.35 ## Job Summary This is a skilled trade position responsible for all the principal sanding operations in the Paint/Welding area of the plantJob Duties and Essentials Functions:
- Positioning and clamping workpieces and fixtures into the holding fixture, using precision measuring instruments like a square, rule, and template.
- Performing technical tasks for troubleshooting and repair on structural and functional components of systems, which may involve screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, and brazing/soldering of parts.
- Verifying conformance of the finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
- Performing principal sanding operations in the Paint/Welding area, including sanding/buffing down welds on metal surfaces for fabrication and assembly parts.
- Reworking sanding, including sanding down painted surfaces to prepare for repainting.
- Sanding down aluminum doors and installing hanger brackets via hand tight wing nut fastener.
- Sanding exterior sides of cabinets and capping exposed fasteners on parts in preparation for paint.
- Potentially utilizing a burn-off oven to burn paint off conveyor hooks.
- Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
- Ensure the safe operation of equipment and follow Whirlpool policies regarding attendance, safety requirements, and PPE.
- Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager all problems which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete industrial floors for the duration of an 8
- to 12-hour shift.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, and maneuver objects up to 35 lbs independently.
- Requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching to position workpieces and access equipment.
- High level of manual dexterity and precise hand-eye coordination for applying brazing alloy and using precision measuring instruments.
- Must have visual acuity for reading blueprints and technical specifications, and for performing detailed dimensional and quality inspection of finished parts.
- Ability to work in a typical manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels (PPE required). ## Required Qualifications
